Writing an e-zine for artists is a great way to increase your art knowledge.
Here are helpful tips for writing and collecting information for an e-zine.
There are ideas everywhere. While attending art club meetings, listen to the conversations that you have with a club member or visiting speaker. Did someone give a show date? Have you exhibited in this show? Find out about it and send the information out to your e-zine list. Artists find this very helpful, as they are always looking for recommendations to good shows.
Keep a file for this information and refer to it frequently if you recommend it.
Artists like to know what you are doing. Ask them to follow you on Face Book and Twitter or other social networks that you are linked to. This is a great way to make new artists friends.
Personally, I prefer an art related e-zine that is colorful, after all that is what our art is all about. By using Constant Contact, your e-zine can be as colorful as you like.
These are techniques that I use to publish the Valle of Yellow Creek Art Studio E-Zine each 1st and 3rd Saturday. Next publication on April 4, 2009.
The box to the top right is the place to subscribe to the free e-zine. There you will find Musings, (personal thoughts), an area that will teach you about making art and an area for on-going activities (art shows, etc.).
There is always a gratitude area. I’m honored to have every one that is on my list, and, I look
forward to getting to know each person better.
Cordially,
Ellene Breedlove Davis
