For an artist there are many positives for participating in an art show. Fortunately, there are only a few negatives.
For me the number one positive is meeting and making new friends. Also, if you exhibit at the same place each year, there will be patrons that look forward to seeing you and checking out your new paintings.
Enlarging your network circle with other artsts is also a positive. I have picked up information about shows, both good ones to exhibit in and ones to avoid.
Negatives are all the things that can go wrong. Such as , the eye hooks pulls out of the frame on a new and important painting. This happened to me today. And, to make matters worse, I didn’t bring any extras. Tomorrow, early, I’ll be scrounging to get the painting rewired so it can be exhibited.
