“The painting has a life of it own. I try to let it come through”. Jackson Pollock
Rule # 6 - Julia Cameron tells us to be alert, always knowing that the Great Creator is present and guiding us.
Rule # 7 – She admonishes you to choose companions, (teachers) who encourages you to do the work, your way. Not just talk about it.
Rule # 8 – The Great Creator loves your creativity. After all who could have more creativity than He does?
Rule # 9 – “Remember that it is my job to do the work, not judge the work”, Julia Cameron
Rule # 10 – Print this quote and hang where you can see it daily.
“GREAT CREATOR, I WILL TAKE CARE OF THE QUANTITY
YOU TAKE CARE OF THE QUALITY”.
Julia Camerson
All these rules are on the mark, I wouldn’t want to have to chose the best one. But, I want to add one – that is to always paint with integrity. Be true to yourself, use your best original materials, and paint the way that makes you happy.
These rules are taught in the Artist’s Way, a Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity by Julia Cameron.
Thank you Julia for inspiring us to be the best we can be.
Cordially,
Ellene
