Honoring your creative spirit means, “During all your life as an artist, learn through painstaking experimentation, exercise, and practice how to acquire a masterly knowledge of your craft.” Paul Jacques Grillo

Are you one of those people that separates your creativity  into categories?  When you are creating a quilt are you just a quilter?  Or, when you are standing at your easel are you just an artist?

Fortunately, current trend defines just about any artistic creativity as art.  Nowadays, at fine art shows there are many different categories that reflects the artist’s creativity.

Find ways to experiment to bring your art to the next level.  If you are a fine artist, learn from the graphic artist.  If you are a painter learn from a craft person.

Learn not only the skill of other artists but of their devotion and dedication to their chosen field.  Feel their passion as they express to you their love for what they do.

I want to encourage you to be passionate about being and “artist”.  Whatever skill you’ve chosen to learn, practice it, experiment with it and use it to the best of your ability to bring joy to others.

Here are two books that I have read and are in my library.  They can be purchased at Amazon.com and shipped to your door.

1) The New Creative Artist, a Guide to Developing your Creative Spirit by nationally known artist Nita Leland.
