While thinking about the painting for” Relay for Life” this year, I thought I would like to paint a rose.  The soft colors that were used are flesh, cerulean blue, and sap green.

Thus, the painting “A Rose for Viki” was painted

The original is painted in oils

Making a Giclee

This is my thought and action process to have a giclee made.

1.  Find someone local, if possible, ask to see work done for other artists.  Check  their original against their giclee.

2.  Decide how you want it printed.  On watercolor paper or canvas.

3.  Decide the size – the printer can advise you about this

4.  If printed on canvas, do you want the printer to stretch and seal it? Do you want a mat or gloss finish?

5.  Ask for a “proof”, to check the giclee before giving the go ahead to make the actual giclee.
